Our team

Our team consists of NASA award-winning developers, Earth observation scientists, big data and unicorn startup veterans who have worked at companies like Facebook, IBM, and Cisco and who come from five of the seven continents. Our leadership team includes the Chair of Canada’s first Space Accelerator for startups, an Earth observation/geospatial big data veteran who has scaled multiple companies through IPOs, a planetary robotics graduate from the International Space University, and a petabyte-scale data leader with patents in location AI and contextual analytics. We are Techstars ‘16 NYC and Google for Entrepreneurs alumni.  We have a unique blend of space/satellite authorities and consumer application veterans.  And we are just getting started.  The sky is literally the limit here.

Our Product

Every day, hundreds of trillions of pixels of our planet are captured from space and the number of sensors observing our planet is growing exponentially. With this explosion of data comes new applications across precision farming, construction planning, disaster relief operations, and retail revenue prediction (to name a few), and the demand for satellite imagery is growing accordingly. However, getting access to many of these catalogues is expensive, tedious and time-consuming and beyond the reach of the average developer.

Using our team's experience in building NASA-award winning software and big data services, we are building the EarthCache™ platform, a simple way to discover and access the world’s remote sensing data. We are making it easy for organizations and application developers to manage crops, predict the markets, monitor infrastructure, harness energy, track ships and planes, measure global warming, among other game-changing applications. We do the hard data work behind the scenes allowing developers to build these new applications that quite literally will change our world.

We are looking for our first Talent Acquisition to join our out of this world (Get it? Space, SkyWatch, satellites… You get it!) team! As Talent Acquisition on our HR team you will oversee and manage all things recruitment. From attracting top talent through creative job postings and sourcing strategies, to participating in campus and community recruitment events.  You will be the first member of our growing Talent Acquisition team, reporting directly to the COO.



  • Design, implement and be responsible for an inclusive and diverse recruitment strategy

  • Work closely with hiring managers to determine position and application requirements, candidate assessments and advise on interviewing best practices

  • Manage candidate experience through timely communication, scheduling of interviews and administering assessments

  • Prepare recruitment materials; job descriptions, score cards, compensation packages etc...

  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies to identify and attract top prospective candidates, continuously developing an ongoing pipeline

  • Research and participate in recruitment and community events to continuously promote our reputation as one of the best places to work

  • Perform references checks and present offers of employment

  • Act as the main point of contact for career and placement opportunities with SkyWatch

  • Develop analytical and well-documented recruiting reports

  • Work closely with Leadership to ensure growth targets are met

  • Build-out processes from scratch while recruiting operationally


  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment (in-house or agency)

  • Experience in hypergrowth recruiting

  • Proficient in developing interview processes, assessments and guidelines

    • Experience recruiting for a variety of positions, especially technical roles

    • Proficient with cloud-based Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)

  • Knowledge of various sourcing and candidate attraction techniques

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

    • Strong decision-making, organization and time management skills

    • Continuously developing and improving diversity and inclusion initiatives


  • National and International recruitment experience (e.g. Toronto, US, Europe, etc.)

  • Familiarity with HRIS or HRMS systems

  • Campus recruitment experience
