You will have a vital role in supporting SkyWatch’s upcoming, much-anticipated, new platform for accessing the world’s satellite data. You will be a key resource the team and the platform they’re developing will be relying on.

Research, propose, design, plan, and implement build and deployment solutions
Analyze existing operations and proactively seek opportunities to optimize, automate, and consolidate open-source technologies and improve the infrastructure environment and systems performance
Ensure capacity planning and continual performance improvement of technologies and infrastructure that support code build and deployment
Deliver stable, healthy infrastructure to operations teams and facilitate knowledge transfer by providing comprehensive and detailed design documentation, infrastructure readiness documentation, and acceptance checklists
Maintain infrastructure by providing troubleshooting, administration, performance monitoring and optimization, as well as capacity and continuity planning.
Skills and Experience
B.S. in Software Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent work experience
At least 3 years of experience in release engineering and/or configuration management
DevOps experience in a fast-paced environment where daily ships are essential
Experience maintaining and configuring a C.I. environment
Experience managing multiple code repositories, and helping with branching and tagging at both tactical and strategic levels
Experience working with tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management
Advanced knowledge of: Linux/Unix; Python; Bash Shell scripting; DevOps technologies such as GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud services on AWS (and GCP).
Database administration experience for SQL- (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL-based (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra) databases
Experience with build management tools
Experience automating release and build processes.

You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
You're a proficient organizer with an uncanny ability to multitask and meet deadlines
You're a critical thinker with excellent decision-making skills
